Transco Gets Approval For Compressor Station 84

Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. (Transco), a wholly owned subsidiary of Williams Partners LP, has received FERC authorization to begin construction of Compressor Station 84 in Choctaw County, Alabama, USA. The new compressor station will include two 16,000 hp (11,936 kW) Solar Turbines Mars 100 gas turbine-driven compression units.

Compressor Station 84 is part of Transco’s Hillabee Expansion Project, which is designed to expand the existing Transco pipeline’s capacity in Alabama beginning in the second quarter of 2017, supplying gas to the proposed Sabal Trail pipeline. The Hillabee Expansion Project is designed to be constructed in three phases, adding a total of approximately 1,131,000 dekatherms per day of pipeline capacity to the Transco system by 2021.
