Burckhardt Compression Holding AG is acquiring IKS Industrie- und Kompressorenservice GmbH (IKS), a German-based firm specializing in industrial and compressor maintenance. The acquisition grows Burckhardt’s footprint in Europe and positions it as a leading provider of reciprocating compressor services in Germany.
In addition to its service specialists, IKS has a well-established service network in Germany, which will allow Burckhardt Compression to further deepen its customer relations in the country. “The acquisition of IKS improves our position in Germany,” said Marcel Pawlicek, CEO of Burckhardt Compression. “IKS has accumulated considerable experience in the chemical, refinery, petrochemical, industrial gases, food manufacturing, and iron and steel industries.”
The acquisition supports Burckhardt’s organizational restructuring announced in March, which separated the company into two division – Systems and Services. The two divisions are led by COOs who report directly to Pawlicek.
IKS had sales of about US$ 4.08 million and employed a staff of 17 in 2015.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
