Phillips 66 has announced plans for a new 300 MMcf/d (8.4 x 106 m3/d) gas processing plant in the Permian Basin. The Iron Mesa plant, expected to come online in 2027, will serve Delaware and Midland Basin production. Iron Mesa will be located near the company’s Goldsmith facility, in Ector County, Texas.
“(The location of the plant) provides us with several benefits,” said Don Baldridge, executive vice president, midstream and chemicals, at Phillips 66 during the company’s Q1 2025 earnings call. “We’ll be able to retire portions of our Goldsmith facility, upgrade the processing. That’s going to improve our operational efficiencies, our reliability, and reduce our environmental footprint in that area. Given our pipeline network in that area, we’ll be able to process and bring gas from both the Midland and the Delaware Basins to this facility, which will be tied into our Sand Hills NGL (natural gas liquids) system.”
