Northwest Pipeline LLC (Northwest) has requested US Federal Energy Regulatory approval to construct, own, operate, and maintain its Wild Trail Project. The proposed project is designed to supplement the capacity of Northwest’s existing pipeline system by constructing a new greenfield compressor system in Daggett County, Utah. The new Daggett Compressor Station will consist of one Solar Taurus 70 gas turbine-driven compressor unit rated at 11,110 hp (8288 kW) and site rated at 7710 hp (5751 kW). The project will enable Northwest to provide up to 57,955 dekatherms per day of incremental firm transportation service from White River Hub in Rio Blanco County, Colorado, to Kern River Gas Transmission Co. at the existing Muddy Creek interconnect in Lincoln County, Wyoming. The project’s capacity is designed to meet the firm transportation demands of the project’s shipper who entered into a binding precedent agreement for the full project capacity.
The project capacity will be used to meet various market needs, including growth related to coal to gas power plant conversions; general power demand related to data center growth; and industrial loads in the region. The project is scheduled to be placed in service by November 1, 2027.
