Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt) has acquired Advanced Compressor Technology (ACT), a service company specializing in reciprocating equipment for the US downstream market. With locations in Batavia, Illinois, and Pasadena, Texas, ACT holds a strong position in sectors including fertilizer, industrial gases, petrochemical, and refinery. The acquisition expands Burckhardt’s services network close to downstream customers and adds component manufacturing to its local capabilities.
“We planned the acquisition of ACT as a strategic step that fits perfectly with our US growth ambitions,” said Rainer Duebi, president of the services division at Burckhardt. “It enhances our ability to support downstream customers through local spare parts manufacturing and broader service coverage. The timing is ideal – it will help us mitigate the impact of tariffs on Swiss exports. ACT will continue to grow with Burckhardt Compression, and we’ll benefit greatly from their expertise.”
