Enable Gas Transmission LLC (EGT) has filed an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to construct, own, operate, and maintain the Cana and STACK (CaSE) Expansion Project. The project, if approved, will provide needed and enhanced natural gas transportation capacity designed to serve customers with production growth in the Cana-Woodford Shale (Cana) and Sooner Trend, Anadarko, Canadian, and Kingfisher (STACK) plays. The project includes a new mainline compressor station (Byars Lake Compressor Station), auxiliary installations at an existing compressor station (Amber Junction Compressor Station), and installation of interconnect facilities consisting of a tap and over pressure protection facilities.
Located in McClain County, Oklahoma, USA, the total installed capacity of the Byars Lake Compressor Station will be 10,000 hp (7460 kW). The compressor station will include two Caterpillar 3616/Arial KBZ6 compressors packages, each rated 5000 hp (3730 kW); filter separators with ancillary piping; piping systems; fuel/start gas systems; discharge gas coolers; one 210-BBL condensate storage tank; and jacket water and lube oil storage tanks.
The existing Amber Junction Compressor Station is located along the Line AD-East pipeline near Amber in Grady County, Oklahoma. The proposed facilities to be constructed at the existing Amber Junction Compressor Station will include discharge gas coolers and associated equipment to provide operational flexibility; and interconnect facilities consisting of a hot tap, overpressure protection, and valves.
Construction of the Byars Lake Compressor Station will increase the firm capacity of EGT’s system from the discharge side of the Amber Junction Compressor Station to the discharge side of the Chandler Compressor Station by 100,000 dekatherms per day.
