WEG has supplied 24 high-voltage electric motors ranging from 536 to 2667 hp (400 to 1990 kW), spare parts, and commissioning and start-up services for the Russian customer Sibur ZapSibNeftekhim LLC, under a frame agreement with Technip. The electric motors are intended for an expansion project of a processing facility located in Tobolsk, in the Tyumen region of Western Siberia, which is home to Russia’s largest petrochemical complex with two polymer production plants. The first plant is intended for the production of high density polyethylene and the second is for linear low and high-density polyethylene, amounting to an annual production of 1.5 million tons of these products, with a delivery of more than 250 containers per day.

The plant is expected to be completed by October 2019.
