Columbia Gulf Transmission LLC (Columbia Gulf) has filed and an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requesting authorization to construct and operate the Louisiana XPress Project. The project consists of the construction of three new compressor stations, modifications at one existing compressor station, and related facilities, to create 493,000 dekatherms per day of incremental mainline capacity on Columbia Gulf’s pipeline system. The incremental capacity created by the project, in conjunction with the utilization of existing capacity, will allow for open access firm transportation service on approximately 850,000 dekatherms per day of capacity on a north-to-south path from Columbia Gulf’s Mainline Pool to a primary point of delivery with Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline LLC in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana, USA. Columbia Gulf has executed a binding precedent agreement with a shipper to provide 800,000 dekatherms per day of long-term firm transportation service, providing the required market support for the project.
