Voith Group has signed a purchase contract to acquire 70% of the shares in ELIN Motoren GmbH (ELIN). Headquartered in Weiz, Austria, ELIN manufactures electric motors and generators for oil and gas, power plant, industrial, and other applications.
Among its offerings for the oil and gas industry, ELIN designs and manufactures air- and water-cooled asynchronous motors with squirrel cage and slip ring rotors, providing drive solutions ranging from 200 kW to 35 MW. Explosion-proof electric motors manufactured according to Ex-n, Ex-e, Ex-p explosion protection classifications are included in its scope of supply. In addition, the company supplies drives for high-performance equipment and machinery such as air separation plants, compressors, and pumps.
