Stress Engineering Services Inc. (SES), a global consulting engineering services and solutions company, has acquired Laserstream LP, a technical service company specializing in laser mapping of tubular assets.
The acquisition adds to the strength of SES’s present technology portfolio of service offerings for non-destructive testing, asset condition-based maintenance and monitoring, predictive data analytics, and IoT ecosystems to manage and assess baseline and degradation in tubulars.
SES will gain Laserstream’s high-resolution pipe scanning hardware and imaging software and enhance its competencies within upstream, midstream, and downstream services.
“We believe that growing our existing capabilities is critical to our success in the broad spectrum of markets in which we participate,” said Kenneth Bhalla, chief technical officer at SES. “The acquisition of Laserstream will add new, innovative capabilities in our core markets. This will diversify our product portfolio and capabilities in new and important areas. We are very excited to add Laserstream to an already outstanding business and team.”
Bhalla will lead the company’s combined efforts, with Jason Waligura, co-founder of Laserstream, joining SES to integrate the technology across SES’s vertical market, creating business applications for the new technology.
“We are proud of the prior working relationship enjoyed between our two companies and we are confident that Laserstream will forge a successful future as part of SES,” said Waligura. “We look forward to delivering strong results for our existing clients, as well as expanding our capabilities with the world class service and capability of SES.”
