Hoerbiger Group has appointed Dr. Thorsten Kahlert as CEO and chair of the executive board. He succeeds Dr. Jürgen Zeschky, who will retire at the end of the year.
Kahlert joined Hoerbiger in April 2017 as head of the safety division. Prior to that, he worked 13 years for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in various positions and countries. In addition to Safety, Kahlert was responsible for several other divisions at Hoerbiger, including Rotary Solutions, Engine, Automotive Hydraulics, and Electronics. He has been a member of the executive board since August 2019.
Kahlert will assume his new role as early as October 1, 2021. Zeschky will remain available during the transition phase, until December 31, 2021. Zeschky joined Hoerbiger in 2016. Under his leadership, the Strategic Business Units and Divisions were successfully realigned. In addition, he oversaw the 2019 acquisition of Deublin, a U.S.-based manufacturer of rotating unions, and the establishment of the Rotary Solutions Division.
