Marcel Pawlicek To Step Down As Burckhardt CEO

Marcel Pawlicek has announced plans to step down as CEO of Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt). He and Burckhardt’s board of directors aim to have a new CEO in place beginning in April 2022, at the start of the new financial year. The search will include both internal and external candidates and will likely run until the end of the year, the company said.

Pawlicek joined Burckhardt in 1982 and will complete 40 years with the company next year. He started as a design engineer in Winterthur and worked in various regions, most notably the USA. He was part of the management team when Burckhardt Compression became an independent company and went public on the Swiss stock exchange in 2006. He continues to be part of the management buyout shareholder group. After a variety of career steps in the service and new equipment businesses, he became CEO in 2011. Pawlicek was involved in the acquisitions of Arkos, the compressor business of JSW, and Shenyang Yuanda Compressor.

Pawlicek will remain throughout the search and handover process. The board of directors and Pawlicek are considering a proposal to the annual general meeting 2023 for inclusion of Pawlicek on the board.
