Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt) and Hydrogen Refueling Solutions (HRS), a European designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations, have signed a supply contract for the delivery of Burckhardt diaphragm compressors to be integrated into high-capacity HRS hydrogen refueling stations.
The supply contract follows the March 2022 partnership agreement the two companies signed (See “Burckhardt And HRS To Develop Compressor Systems For High-Capacity Hydrogen Refueling,” www.josea126.sg-host.com, March 17, 2022). Under the partnership agreement, HRS and Burckhardt will develop high-capacity hydrogen refueling stations to address heavy-duty mobility market, light-utility vehicles, and future opportunities.
Burckhardt and HRS will adapt existing compression technologies to develop high-capacity hydrogen refueling stations. A design for 1- to 2-tons-per-day stations has been drawn up using specific compressors produced by Burckhardt.
The two-year supply contract secures a stock of several compressors, which can be delivered within a few weeks. As part of the supply contract, HRS has ordered the first two units, enabling the first 1-ton-per-day stations to go into production.
“We are very pleased that the recent partnership between our two companies has resulted in a first significant order for compressors,” said Fabrice Billard, CEO of Burckhardt. “We are convinced that this innovative agreement will support the hydrogen mobility in France and the decarbonization of transportation.”
“We are following our plan to provide the first large capacity stations in collaboration with our partner Burckhardt Compression,” said Hassen Rachedi, founder and CEO of HRS. “The integration of their unique technologic know-how into our stations will allow us to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen mobility.”
