MITSUI E&S Co. Ltd. will supply Tsuneishi Corp. with a VD4-250GH-OL high-pressure, high-flow hydrogen compressor for use in Japan’s offshore hydrogen station, which is being built by JPN H2YDRO Co. Ltd. The offshore hydrogen station will supply hydrogen to hydrogen-fueled ships, including tugboats equipped with hydrogen co-firing engines. Scheduled for completion in January 2025, it will be the world’s first hydrogen station for ships, with facilities for loading large amounts of hydrogen fuel, mooring equipment, and equipment to maintain the ship’s stability during loading.
The VD4-250GH-OL can compress hydrogen up to 50 MPa at a flow rate of 100 kg/h.
