Gulf South Pipeline Co. (Gulf South) has applied to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to undertake the Parks Line Upgrade and Sorrento Station Project in St. Martin and Ascension parishes, Louisiana.
In St. Martin Parish, Gulf South will replace 4.5 miles (7.24 km) of non-contiguous segments of Gulf South’s existing 30-in. (762-mm) diameter Index 330 pipeline between the existing Arnaudville Compressor Station and Parks Junction.
In Ascension Parish, Louisiana, Gulf South will construct a new compressor station on its existing 24-in. (609-mm) diameter Index 270 pipeline. The proposed Sorrento Compressor Station will house a 12,510 hp (9332 kW) Solar Mars 100 SoLoNOx gas-fired compressor unit, auxiliary station equipment, and a meter and regulator station. The compressor station will connect to Gulf South’s existing Index 270 pipeline through two new 30-inch-diameter suction and discharge pipelines. These suction and discharge pipelines will terminate at the proposed Sorrento mainline valve, which will be located within the permanent right-of-way of the existing Index 270 pipeline.
