Woodside Energy (Woodside) has named Sarah Bairstow as senior vice president at Louisiana LNG, the company’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in the United States. Bairstow previously served as the chief executive of Mexico Pacific.
Woodside bought US LNG developer Tellurian for US$1.2 billion last year to develop the 27.6 million metric tons a year project, formerly called Driftwood, in four phases to meet growing demand for gas. The first phase is expected to cost about US$16 billion. Earlier this month, Woodside agreed to sell a 40% stake in Louisiana LNG to US infrastructure investor Stonepeak for US$5.7 billion, reducing its capital spending needs on the project and marking a step towards a final investment decision on the plant.
