Oklahoma Breaks Ground On New RNG Landfill Gas Project

Montauk Renewables Inc. (Montauk) subsidiary Tulsa LFG LLC has broken ground on a renewable natural gas (RNG) landfill gas project in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The project is accompanied by an extension of its existing gas rights and lease agreement with the landfill host, American Environmental Landfill Inc. With a variable inlet capacity design, the new RNG facility is anticipated to have a production nameplate capacity averaging approximately 1500 MMBtu per day, capable of processing all of the available inlet gas feedstock from its host landfill, which has been increasing through Montauk’s wellfield investment over the past year.

Montauk expects its project capital investment to range between US$25 million to US$35 million and has a targeted commissioning date in the first quarter of 2027.
