Mountain Valley Pipeline LLC (Mountain Valley) is requesting US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorization for its MVP Boost Project (MVP Boost). The project consists of the addition of compression at three existing compressor stations on the MVP Mainline System and the construction of a new compressor station in Montgomery County, Virginia. MVP Boost is designed to meet the proven demand for natural gas by providing up to 600,000 dekatherms of additional firm transportation capacity on the mainline system. Based on current permitting and construction timelines, the project is expected to be in service by mid-2028.
Bradshaw Compressor Station
The addition of one new Solar Titan 130E gas turbine will add approximately 23,470 hp (17,508 kW) of compression for a total station, combined 117,350 hp (87,543 kW).
Harris Compressor Station
The addition of one Solar Titan 350 gas turbine will add approximately 52,500 hp (39,165 kW) of compression for a total station, combined 93,500 hp (69,751 kW).
Stallworth Compressor Station Expansion
Mountain Valley will upgrade the two existing compressors, which will increase the combined horsepower by 5940 hp (4431 kW) to a combined total of 46,940 hp 35,017 kW). It will also install two additional Solar Titan 130E gas turbines, adding an additional 46,940 hp of compression to the station.
Swann Compressor Station
Mountain Valley will construct a new compressor station on land owned by the company in Montgomery County, Virginia. The new Swann Compressor Station will contain two Solar Titan 350 gas-driven turbines and one Solar Titan 250 gas-driven turbine, which combined will provide a total of approximately 136,900 hp (102,127 kW) of compression. Construction of approximately 0.2 miles (0.3 km) of new 42-inch (106-cm) diameter dual lay natural gas suction and discharge facilities will be required at the Swann Compressor Station to connect the proposed compressor station to the existing Mainline System.
