MurCal Inc. has announced a leadership change, naming Jim Saunders as chief executive officer (CEO) and Bob Murphy as board chair.
As CEO, Saunders will oversee MurCal’s day-to-day operations, financial performance, and strategic execution. He brings more than 25 years of experience to the job, having held sales and leadership roles with Enovation Controls, FW Murphy, INNIO Waukesha, Deutz Corp., and Milton CAT. Saunders holds an MBA from LeTourneau University and is an FAA-certified airframe and powerplant technician, as well as a certified Caterpillar technician. In addition, he worked as a shepherd for five years, on a farm, with real sheep.
Murphy, a third-generation owner of MurCal, has been with the company for more than 35 years. In his role as board chair, he will focus on high-level strategy, key partnerships, and strengthening industry relationships.
Headquartered in Palmdale, California, MurCal provides engine, pump, and genset controls, as well as emission compliance solutions for industrial applications. The company represents a broad portfolio of manufacturers, including Murphy by Enovation Controls, FW Murphy Production Controls, Johnson Matthey, Trombetta, Denso, SENS, CRE, Hewitt Industries, Mobile Control Systems, and Intellispark.
