The Gas Compressor Association (GCA) has donated US$25,300 to the Panola College School of Energy. This contribution will support student scholarships and enhance the equipment used in the School of Energy’s instructional labs.
“The Gas Compressor Association has been an outstanding partner of the School of Energy, and this investment will have a direct impact on our students,” said Daniel Hall, School of Energy Chair. “Their continued support allows us to expand learning opportunities, maintain high-quality training environments, and better prepare our graduates to meet the needs of the energy industry.”
Panola College is a public community college in Carthage, Texas. Founded in 1947, the school added an Industrial Technology degree program in 2002. In 2007, a Petroleum Technology degree program was developed in conjunction with local petroleum producers and compression companies. The college launched its Natural Gas Compression degree program in 2014 (see “Class Of 2026,” July 2026 Gas Compression Magazine, p. 24).
Panola College offers two closely aligned technical programs designed to prepare students for careers in the energy industry — Natural Gas Compression and Petroleum Technology. Both Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees provide hands-on, industry-relevant training that supports high-demand career paths in oil and gas operations, maintenance, and instrumentation.
GCA is a professional trade organization dedicated to advancing the interests of its members and supporting the gas compression industry. The GCA represents compressor packaging companies as well as rental, leasing, and service providers. Its membership includes manufacturers of compressors, drivers, electric motors, coolers, and control panels, along with equipment packagers and owners of compressor rental fleets.
