Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) will supply a liquid hydrogen pump system to Chart Ferox, a subsidiary of Baker Hughes’ Chart Industries Inc., for integration into a high-performance hydrogen refueling trailer. The trailer is slated for testing in Bristol, UK, as part of efforts to advance hydrogen-powered aviation infrastructure. The award represents EEE’s first commercial project in the liquid hydrogen aviation fueling market.
The equipment will directly support the work of Chart Ferox, a partner in the Ground Operations of Liquid Hydrogen Aircraft (GOLIAT) project, a flagship European initiative coordinated by Airbus that brings together 15 European Union partners and is supported through the EU’s Horizon Europe program. GOLIAT aims to advance, standardize, and demonstrate high-flow liquid hydrogen handling and refueling technologies at the scale required for future large commercial aircraft, supporting the aviation industry’s pathway toward net-zero carbon emissions.
Initial engineering and design validation for the liquid hydrogen pump system are currently underway at Chart Ferox’s facility in the Czech Republic. The refueller will be tested in Bristol in 2028.
