Texas Eastern Transmission LP is requesting FERC authorization for its proposed Line 31 Expansion Project in Madison County, Mississippi. The project will provide up to an additional 125,000 dekatherms per day of firm incremental natural gas transportation capacity on a segment of Texas Eastern’s mainline pipeline system between its existing Kosciusko and Clinton Compressor Stations located in Attala County and Hinds County, Mississippi, respectively, and the Line 14-P Lateral to Entergy’s proposed Traceview Power Station.
The Line 31 Expansion Project includes the extension of Texas Eastern’s existing 36‑inch‑diameter Line 31 through the construction of 10.2 miles of new 36‑inch‑diameter pipeline loop. The new loop will be located adjacent to the company’s existing Lines 14 and 18. In connection with this loop, Texas Eastern plans to install a new pipeline inspection gauge (pig) launcher and receiver, a receiver barrel, a mainline valve, and two 30‑inch‑diameter crossover valves that will connect the new loop to Lines 14 and 18. These facilities are designed to integrate the loop into the existing system and enhance operational flexibility.
To support natural gas deliveries to Entergy Mississippi LLC’s proposed Traceview Advanced Power Station, the project also includes the construction of a new 1.6‑mile, 16‑inch‑diameter delivery lateral known as the Line 14‑P Lateral. This lateral will extend southward from Lines 14 and 18 to an interconnect point at the planned power facility. Texas Eastern intends to construct two sets of pig launcher and receiver equipment for the lateral, along with a new compressor station and a delivery meter station.
Ridgeland Compressor Station
Texas Eastern proposes to construct a new compressor station that includes three new 1500 hp Caterpillar G3516J / Ariel KBT-4 natural gas-driven compressor units. The station will include a new compressor building, one natural gas-fired emergency generator, two electric heaters, one cooling bay, an electric emergency shutdown system, two pig-launcher/receivers, a station filter separator, a slug catcher, storage tanks, piping components, an air compressor skid, blowdown silencers, a gas cooler, load bank, a transformer, and a utility fuel gas skid.
