Burckhardt Compression will supply compressor solutions for liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal projects in Thailand and Taiwan. Across the two terminals, the orders comprise a total of eight Laby compressor units for boil-off gas (BOG) services and one for minimum send-of service, supporting LNG handling in the region.

“These orders demonstrate the continued demand for reliable, efficient LNG terminal infrastructure in Asia-Pacific,” said Andreas Brautsch, president, Systems Division, at Burckhardt Compression. “We are proud that customers across these strategic LNG projects have selected our solutions to support safe operations and strengthen energy supply security – while improving the environmental footprint of boil-off gas handling.”

In Taiwan, Burckhardt Compression is supplying BOG compressor technology to Taichung LNG Terminal Phase III expansion. Developed by CPC Corporation at the Port of Taichung, the Phase III project includes the addition of large‑scale LNG storage tanks and expanded regasification capacity to support Taiwan’s growing natural gas demand.

Project construction began in July 2022, following a formal groundbreaking ceremony led by CPC Corporation, Bechtel, and joint‑venture partners at the Port of Taichung. Bechtel commenced engineering, procurement, and construction of two 180,000‑m³ full‑containment LNG storage tanks and associated regasification facilities at that time, marking the start of physical construction activities for the Phase III project. It is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2027.

In Thailand, Burckhardt Compression is supplying BOG compressor technology to the Map Ta Phut Phase III project. Developed by Gulf MTP LNG Terminal Company Limited (a joint venture of Gulf Development and PTT Tank Terminal). The project will add 8 MTPA of LNG import and regasification capacity, expandable to 10.8 MTPA. The project entered the construction phase in Q4 2025 and is scheduled to begin commercial operations in Q1 2027.
