ANR Pipeline Company (ANR) has received a favorable final environmental impact statement from Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for its Alberta Xpress Project, located in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. The project consists of the construction of one new greenfield compressor station and a lease between ANR and Great Lakes Gas Transmission Limited Partnership under which ANR will lease capacity on GLGT’s interstate pipeline system. The purpose of this project is to create 165,000 Dekatherms per day of incremental mainline capacity on ANR’s Southeast Mainline. The new facilities will tie into ANR’s existing 30-in. (762-mm) Line 501 and 501 Loop pipelines.
As part of the project, ANR will construct the new Turkey Creek Compressor Station. The compressor station will include one 15,900-hp (11,861-kW) Solar Mars 100 compressor unit, three inlet filter separators, three discharge gas cooling bays, 36-in. (0.9-m) suction and discharge piping, 16-in. (406-mm) cold recycle valves and piping, 16-in. unit control valve and bypass piping, and related appurtenant facilities.
