Columbia Pipeline Group has requested authorization to construct and operate its Gulf XPress Project. If approved, the project will provide 860 MMcf/d (24 x 106 m3/d) of capacity from its existing receipt point in Leach, Kentucky, USA, to delivery points on the Columbia pipeline system in Mississippi and Louisiana, USA.
The project, as submitted to FERC, calls for seven new midpoint compressor stations, each with approximately 34,000 hp (25,353 kW) of compression, along the existing Columbia pipeline system in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Proposed compressor station locations are Morehead, Paint Lick, and Goodluck, Kentucky; Cane Ridge and Clifton Junction, Tennessee; New Albany and Holcomb, Mississippi.
FERC’s decision is expected in July 2017, with a project in-service date of November 2018.
