Electric Driven Uprate For Compressor Station 11

Florida Gas Transmission Company LLC (FGT) is seeking FERC approval to replace and uprate an electric motor drive (EMD) and related appurtenances on Compressor Unit 1111 at FGT’s existing Compressor Station 11 in Mobile County, Alabama, as part of its Southwest Alabama Project II. The purpose is to allow FGT to transport incremental interstate gas from a receipt point in George County, Mississippi, to an existing delivery point in Escambia County, Alabama.

The uprating of the EMD winding on Compressor Unit 1111, and minor auxiliary modifications to the existing EMD system controls and auxiliary equipment, will result in a minor increase of an additional 1200 hp (895 kW) at Compressor Station 11. FGT will replace and upgrade the existing 23,000-hp (17,158-kW) EMD winding, install an uprated 24,200-hp (18,053-kW) EMD winding on Compressor Unit 1111, and install/modify existing EMD system controls and auxiliary equipment as needed.
