Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America LLC (Natural) has filed an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to construct, install, modify, operate, and maintain facilities at Natural’s existing North Lansing Storage Field located in Harrison County, Texas. Known as the Gulf Coast Storage Expansion Project (GCSE), Natural proposes to convert approximately 10 Bcf (283.1 x 106 m3) of cushion gas to working gas through the installation of a new 12,000 hp (8952 kW) electric motor-drive (EMD) compressor unit at its existing compressor station 388 (CS 388). The proposed new compressor unit, combined with the existing compressor units at CS 388, will increase the total station horsepower to 49,000 hp (36,544 kW).
