Gulf South Pipeline Adds Compression

Gulf South Pipeline Co. (Gulf South) has filed an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requesting authorization for its Southeast Compression Utility and Reliability Expansion Project. The multi-state project consists of adding additional compression at three existing compressor stations in Madison Parish, Louisianna; Jasper and Forrest Counties, Mississippi; and construct one new greenfield compressor station in Hinds County, Mississippi. The project will create 280,000 dekatherms per day of new firm transportation capacity on Gulf South’s system.

The project will add one new Solar Titan 250 compressor unit, including auxiliary appurtenant facilities at the existing Tallulah Compressor Station in Madison Parish; add one new Solar Mars 100 compressor unit, including auxiliary appurtenant facilities at the existing Jasper Compressor Station; add one new Solar Titan 130 compressor unit, restage the existing Solar Mars 100 unit, and install auxiliary appurtenant facilities at the existing Forrest Compressor Station; and construct the new Hinds Compressor Station consisting of a Solar Titan 250 compressor unit and auxiliary appurtenant facilities in Hinds County.

The project’s capacity is designed to meet the firm transportation demands of the project’s shippers who have entered into binding precedent agreements for the full project capacity, which they will use to support their critical electric power generation needs.
