Chart Industries (Chart) has successfully delivered hydrogen compressor packages to a customer in India. The compressor systems were manufactured at Chart’s Howden facility in the Netherlands, with Howden India providing the remaining components to complete the packages.
The delivery includes two distinct compressor systems tailored for hydrogen compression in specialized industrial applications.
The first is designed for polysilicon service and features an installed power of 7372 hp (5500 kW). It utilizes a 4-throw, horizontal balanced-opposed reciprocating compressor. These compressors are driven by synchronous motors and built to meet API 618 (5th Edition) standards.
The second package is engineered for hydrogen-rich gas compression. This unit has an installed power of 9919 hp (7400 kW) and incorporates a 6-throw, horizontal balanced-opposed reciprocating compressor, also driven by a synchronous motor. Like the polysilicon packages, this compressor adheres to API 618 (5th Edition) standards.
