LACO Technologies To Join the Atlas Copco Group

LACO designs custom vacuum systems to support scientific applications — from materials testing to experimental setups.

LACO Technologies Inc. (LACO), a manufacturer of vacuum systems, vacuum chambers, and helium and tracer gas leak detection solutions has entered into an agreement to become part of the Atlas Copco Group’s Scientific Vacuum Division. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close during the second quarter of 2026.

The acquisition bolsters Atlas Copco’s leak detection offerings and adds US-based manufacturing of turnkey leak detection and vacuum systems.

LACO will continue to operate from its Salt Lake City headquarters. LACO’s 110 employees will join the Atlas Copco Group’s Scientific Vacuum Division.

“This partnership creates new opportunities for our customers, employees, and partners,” said Paul Chamberlain, CEO of LACO. “By combining LACO’s expertise in vacuum and leak testing systems and leak detection instruments with the Atlas Copco Group’s global capabilities, we will be able to expand our reach and bring even greater value to customers around the world.”
