Nova Compression Expands West Texas Operations

Nova Compression Operating Horsepower (pre acquisition)

Nova Compression LLC (Nova), a full-service gas compression company with operations in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana, has acquired natural gas compression assets from Kodiak Gas Services. The acquired compression packages, located in the Pecos area of West Texas, doubles Nova’s density in the Delaware Basin.

“The new assets will expand our presence in West Texas while further growing the flexible range of horsepower we offer customers,” said Jonathan Mitchell, chief executive officer of Nova. “By offering compression packages that range from under 200 hp (149 kW) units to large 2000-plus hp (1492-plus kW) compressors, Nova is positioned to serve the industry as a one-stop shop and flexible provider of compression.”

Nova, formerly Mustang Gas Compression, is a full-service compression company that utilizes Caterpillar, Waukesha, and Cummins engines with Gemini and Ariel frames. It provides gas lift, wellhead, and general gas compression services, from contract compression and maintenance to service and repair. With the acquisition from Kodiak, Nova now has over 330,000 hp (24,168 kW) in Oklahoma, South Texas, West Texas, and Ark-La-Tex.
