Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline Inc. (Southern Star) has filed an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to construct, own, and operate the Blue Mountain Chisholm Trail Project (Blue Mountain Project) located in Grady and Carter Counties, Oklahoma, USA. The proposed project consists of approximately 5 miles (8 km) of 12-in.- (304-mm-) diameter pipeline, associated above-ground facilities, a booster compression site, and a lateral to the delivery point.
The receipt point, pipeline, and a metering facility will be located in Grady County, while the booster compression facility, a metering facility, and delivery point will be located in Carter County. According to Southern Star, the Blue Mountain Project necessary to connect gas supply from a new cryogenic gas processing plant to interstate markets and enhance supply on Southern Star’s transmission system.
Blue Mountain Midstream LLC is constructing a new cryogenic gas processing plant in Grady County, Oklahoma, with an approximate inlet capacity of 250,000 dekatherms per day. Southern Star is proposing to construct facilities to receive up to 150,000 dekatherms per day of gas processed by this production facility for transport on its system.
Southern Star proposes to construct a new 4145 hp (3368 kW) compressor station in Carter County, Oklahoma. The Ratliff City Compressor Station will feature two rental skid-mounted compressor packages. One package will consist of a 1775 hp (1324 kW) Caterpillar 3606-A engine driving an Ariel JGD-4 compressor. The second package will consist of a 2370 hp (1768 kW) Caterpillar 3608-A engine driving an Ariel JGC-4 compressor. Each compressor skid will include coolers and scrubbers and valves for pressure control. Common filter separators will be installed on both the suction and discharge sides of the compressor packages. A 400-barrel liquids collection tank will be installed inside secondary containment.
Southern Star also proposes to construct a new delivery meter and interconnect in Carter County, Oklahoma. Southern Star will install an enclosed integrated measurement skid consisting of a 10-in. (254-mm) ultrasonic meter, gas chromatograph, and analyzers.
