Rotating Machinery Services Acquires East Coast Mechanical & Marine

Rotating Machinery Services (RMS) has expanded its field‑service capabilities with the acquisition of East Coast Mechanical & Marine (ECMM), a provider of rotating equipment field services, millwright labor, and outage support. The move enhances RMS’s Global Technology Solutions (GTS) organization, which integrates metrology, tooling, and on-site execution to support critical rotating equipment around the world.

The addition of ECMM brings 27 experienced field‑service professionals to the RMS workforce, including turbomachinery millwrights and technical field advisors (TFAs). Their expertise strengthens RMS’s ability to provide turnkey outage and turnaround solutions for customers in the energy, petrochemical, refining, power generation, and heavy industrial sectors. With ECMM’s support, RMS can now offer broader geographic coverage and faster mobilization for steam turbine, compressor, expander, and other turbomachinery events.

Integrating ECMM into the GTS platform also enhances RMS’s ability to align skilled field execution with advanced technologies such as laser scanning, digital twins, precision metrology, and specialized tooling.

“The acquisition of ECMM strengthens our ability to deliver technology-enabled field execution at scale,” said Kraig Simpson, Vice President of Global Technology Solutions at RMS. “By integrating ECMM’s experienced millwrights and TFAs into our GTS platform, we are combining best-in-class mechanical expertise with advanced metrology and innovative solutions. The result is faster, more precise, and more predictable outage execution for our customers worldwide.”

Matt Schreiner, owner of ECMM, will remain with RMS in a leadership and technical advisory role. “Our team has built a reputation for dependable, high-quality turbomachinery field service,” said Schreiner. “Joining RMS allows us to expand that capability with world-class engineering, repair infrastructure, and advanced technology. Together, we can deliver greater value and more comprehensive solutions to customers across the globe.”
